We are the Ostick family. We are an "EXCLUSIVE SHIH TZU BREEDER" which means we breed only Shih Tzu's and strive to provide you with the happiest, healthiest, well socialized Shih Tzu puppy for the most reasonable price. We are located in Collin County, Texas, just outside of the McKinney city limit, 32 miles north of Dallas. Our family works 7 days a week keeping our kennels clean and well maintained and our dogs and puppies well groomed. We feed and water by hand rather than using electronic feeders because we believe that our dogs deserve all the time and attention we can give them. This is one of the jobs that the kids are big helpers with. Mom's full time job is caring for our babies both human and semi human. Dad works full time outside our home but is always ready to lend a hand at home with construction, transportation and a lot of clean up.
Our adult Shih Tzu's range in size from 7.5 to 15 pounds and although we sometimes get a smaller puppy, we do not breed down to try to achieve what others are calling the "Imperial". We firmly believe that breeding down creates a serious health risk and prefer to strive for perfection within the breed standard, which is 9 to 16 pounds.
Because we are only hobby breeders we do not have puppies all the time. Please continue to check our available puppies page for news on upcoming litters and to view our newest arrivals.
Our puppies are ready to be released to their new homes between 8-10 weeks depending on how well they are eating. A $100.00 non-refundable deposit will hold the puppy of your choice until he/she is ready to go home. Shih Tzu's have a long life expectancy so please make sure you are ready to make a 10-16 year commitment before you send a deposit. If there are any health issues with a puppy before it leaves here the deposit will be refunded. We are happy to accept your personal check for deposits and/or advance payment but do request that all payments made at pick up are cash.
We register our puppies with AKC or APRI, and we give a two year written health guarantee on genetic defects. All of our puppies are up to date on their shots and wormings before they leave for their new homes. Older puppies are kept up to date on the vaccination series.
Shipping is available through Continental Airlines. Standard shipping charge is $300. Price is set by weight and may be higher on an older Shih Tzu, if shipping more than one puppy together or if shipping with another carrier. We would be happy to discuss shipping in more detail with you personally should you be interested.
