SHIH-TZUS ARE A STURDY, LIVELY, TOY-SIZED DOG THAT ARE VERY PLAYFUL YET GENTLE AND QUIET. THEY LIKE TO CUDDLE, MIX WELL WITH OTHER PETS, AND LOVE CHILDREN. NORMAL WEIGHT IS 8 TO 15 LBS. MOST OF MINE ARE ON THE AVERAGE TO SMALL SIDE. UNLIKE SOME SHIH-TZU BREEDERS, I DO NOT TRY TO RAISE A SUPER SMALL PUPPY THAT IS NOT TRUE TO ITS BREED CHARACTERISTICS. SHIH-TZUS ARE NON-SHEDDING AND HAVE BEAUTIFUL FLOWING MANE-LIKE COATS. THEY NORMALLY TRAIN VERY EASILY AND BARK VERY LITTLE IF AT ALL. SHIH-POO PUPPIES ARE A CROSS OF A POODLE AND A SHIH-TZU. THEY SEEM TO INHERIT THE BEST CHARACTERISTICS OF EACH BREED. THEY HAVE THE EASY-GOING ATTITUDE OF THE SHIH-TZU AND THE INTELLIGENCE AND ATHLETICISM OF THE POODLE. SIZE OF MY SHIH-POO PUPPIES VARIES FROM 6 TO AROUND 12 POUNDS DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE PARENTS. HAIR COAT IS WAVIER THAN THE SHIH-TZU BUT SELDOM AS CURLY AS THE POODLE. THE SHIH-POO FACE IS MORE BOXY THAN FLAT AND BODY BUILD IS NORMALLY SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE SHIH-TZU. I HAVE BEEN RAISING THIS WONDERFUL SHIH-POO MIX FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS AND EVERYONE SEEMS TO LOVE THEM AND SWEARS THEY ARE THE BEST!! PICTURED BELOW ARE SOME OF MY AVAILABLE SHIH-TZU AND SHIHPOO PUPPIES.
